I hope you are all doing well and I hope this week is treating you the best that it can.
Something that I thought would be useful to all of us to remember in the back of our minds is that gestures (aka actions) speak louder than words.
Anyone can apologize. Anyone can say to you that they are sorry and move on feeling better about themselves because they did “their part” by apologizing.
Don’t let people use their words to earn your forgiveness. What is important is what happens after they slip up, watch their actions closely and you will see where there heart really is.
It doesn’t have to be a big gesture. It can be as little as making you a cup of tea, sitting down with you and listening to you. It doesn’t have to be something that costs a cent, just something that matters and something that is coming from their own heart.
Dismissing things that upset you will never be something that you should have to do. Whether this be a friend, a family member or your partner – remember that gestures speak louder than words.
If you let one thing slide, many other things will follow and they either won’t see the severity of your upset or they will just think that they can get away with anything that they throw at you.
Words can be spoken by even the most silver of tongues, but it takes true spirit to make kind gestures that matter.
Speak soon all!
