DaySixtyFive: What Shenanigans I’ve Been Up To

Why hello there,

Fancy seeing us both here. So, what have I been up to recently?ย

I have started writing a romance novel that I hope I get stuck into a groove of writing soon. It’s become a pick up and then put back down habit at the moment. I can’t seem to get my mind entirely into the world that I would like to create, so I’m not forcing it to happen and I’ll just wait for the creative wave to come back to me.

Lately I have found that my mind can’t seem to find time to be quiet at the moment, that is usually when I come on here to write up a storm so that’s what I have spent this Friday afternoon doing it seems!

Somehow while I was at work, in my down time searching Pintrest for ways to tone my hair (I was blonde for a while, but I dyed it back to dark brunette two days ago by the way, you know me, my usual weekly hair dye change – oops) and then somehow through the toning hair, charts of what blemishes mean in Chinese and me taking note on what skin products I should be purchasing, through to weird skin ideas and then I stumbled onto how to arm knit? Yes, you did just read that all correctly. I wanted to know how to tone my hair and then I learned how to arm knit.

Don’t laugh, but I actually followed through with it and I have made two throw blankets from my arms. It’s insane, they say it takes 45 minutes and they weren’t joking. A trip to Spotlight with my partner had the cashier saying “What on earth are you making?” and here I am with two throw blankets that I made, quite literally with my bare arms!

I would like to recommend if you choose to arm knit, go to the bathroom and pee first. I don’t recommend getting through a few glasses of wine first – it’s awful. Oh man, it is awful. As soon as you finish it’s like “FREEEDDDOOOOMMM!”, but worth it! I’ll upload a post on how to arm knit as well as show you the finishing product as we make one together.

What else? Oh, yeah. The usual getting stuck on the weird side of YouTube, watching parents raise a toddler in a van and swimming naked in waterfalls and people scaring their co-workers into outer space. I can’t forget about reading up on the worlds most deadliest spiders and then literally giving myself nightmares that entire night about spiders being at the glass windows tormenting me. You know, the usual.

On the serious side, work is going well for my partner and I. IMG_20170630_080909980_HDR.jpgWe have settled quite nicely in our nest here in Melbourne now, we have our routine as we are creators of such and it’s been amazing. The beauty in Melbourne is phenomenal. IMG_20170630_080858810_HDR.jpgHere are some beautiful pictures I would love to share with you, to show you how beautiful the mornings can be.

It was my partners birthday recently and I spent the entire lead up blowing up 100 balloons (one popped in my face, ouch) and my cat had never seen balloons in his life, it was so exciting for him. He’s popped more than a handful now. I had to chase him around with a balloon in his mouth and he slapped it away from me! I made my partner a video that documented his entire year and how much he had achieved since then, and it was a success! Lots of smiles from it, it made me super stoked to see his face.

We drove all the way from Melbourne to meet my parents in Canberra as well, we had a picnic and then parted ways. My partner and I were a little coo-coo when we got home from that day, it was a good 12 hours all together of driving I think? We had a lot of dirty junk food and roadtrip music (or as we have named it on Spotify ‘Roadtrip Awesomeness’). It was super fun driving to see the sunrise and the sunset though, those moments you never forget. It was wonderful seeing my parents as well.

We saw the snow together for the first time as well. If you can see in the picture, I got him right in the noggin with a big snow ball! 5 points to Slytherin.

IMG_20170724_080906.jpgA lot of wonderful things have been happening recently. Sometimes when you get in such a mental rut, you forget to see how many beautiful things have happened in your life recently until you sit down and actually write about them.

If you would like to catch me up on what mischief you have been up to, I would love to know. Maybe even link me your most recent post, I would love to have a read on this rainy afternoon!

Time to get myself a cup of tea and a slice of homemade banana bread I made. May I also mention that I will be posting up my recipe of homemade potato and beef pies soon, so stay tuned for that. I would also like to mentally prepare you that you will have a bucket of dishes to wash after you make it with me. It was not fun! But so delicious!

Speak soon,
