Day Two: A story of when you thought you saw/heard Santa

When I was younger, I have a blatant memory of lying awake in bed anxious for Christmas because I couldn’t wait to wake up to presents and to have a whole bunch of fun.

I kept getting out of bed and opening my bedroom door a crack because my door was right in front of the Christmas tree that was in the corner of the lounge room.

I remember it had gotten to about 4AMish and there were no presents under the tree. I was so upset, I didn’t think Santa was coming this year. I was absolutely guttered. I couldn’t believe that Santa had forgotten about me and my brothers. I remember trying to fall asleep devastated.

As I was falling asleep, I could have sworn I heard hooves on the rooftop and a Christmas jingle from a bell above my bedroom. I squeezed my eyes closed and smiled so much, I had to pretend to be asleep.

When I woke up a few hours later, there were so many presents under the tree for my brothers and I. I felt so silly for thinking Santa wasn’t coming to our home that year.

What is your story of when you thought you saw/heard Santa?

If you are joining in, please link your posts below so that I can follow along with you!
