Write your goals down and place them somewhere visible.
Whether that is putting it on the fridge door, on the wall near your desk, or even on the back of your bathroom door. I had a work colleague who was determined to learn French and they hung a long list of French words/numbers on the back of their bathroom door and every time they went to the bathroom they practised – they now know a lot of French!
Set a deadline in your phone calendar. Get it to remind you daily, weekly or monthly.
These days, we are all on our phones. If you use your phone calendar to remind you of your goals, you will be prompted visibly to get closer to achieving your goals. For example, your goal this year is to read 100 books. Plan out how long you want to spend on each book, and set reminders for when you start your next book, or reminders on how long you have left to read your book before you need to move onto your next one. Or, you want to lose weight this year – set reminders to go for that afternoon walk or to attend the gym. It is a great way to utilise usage of your phone, yet in a beneficial way to achieve your goals for this year.
Believe in yourself.
You can do this. A year is a long time to achieve a goal, it may not be noticeable in a day, week or month – but if you continue at it for the whole year you will be absolutely amazed at how far you can go. If you take that time to believe in yourself, encourage yourself and just give yourself a chance to do it – who knows what you can achieve? You don’t know the outcome unless you try.
