Why/When Did You Start Blogging? (Blogging Challenge)

Good morning everyone,

Today is the last day of our 15 Day Blogging Challenge. If you are still going, good job! I am so glad that you made it to day 15 with me. I am already working on future challenges and things that we can do in the future moving forward, so please hang around to see what else I can create for us bloggers/readers.

Please don’t feel disheartened if you have only just seen this challenge. If you would like to give it a go – go for it! Read more here.

Why/When Did You Start Blogging?

I very first created my blog many, many years ago for poetry reasons – surprisingly.

I used to write poetry as I was driven by my sheer love for Shakespeare. ICapture.JPGt was a pure obsession for me. I have 3 tattoos taken from sonnets:

Left Wrist –

“When love speaks, the voice of all Gods makes Heaven drowsy with the harmony”

Right Wrist –

“Never durst poet touch a pen to write until his ink were temper’d with loves sighs”

Left Bicep –

“Constant stars, in them I read such art. As truth and beauty shall together thrive”

I put my poetry aside when I discovered how good it felt to actually blog. It was another form of expression that I had never tried.

Life got in the way for a while, until my husband encouraged me to give blogging another go when he and I were moving from NSW to VIC.

You will see my journey through the below posts:

When I took a break from blogging after the journey, I removed a lot of my prior content and updated/edited the blog posts you will see above. I had a lot of pent up frustration and negativity that I needed to release at the time that I didn’t feel was necessary in the posts.❤

In a way, I wish I had kept them the way that they were because it was an incredibly difficult time and it was a lot of pressure/stress.

My husband and I really struggled with the move, as much as it has worked out in the end it was incredibly hard for both of us to pack up our lives and move.

It appears that I am drawn to blogging when big things happen in my life, for example now I am pregnant and about to have a baby guess where I am again? I’m here, blogging. In one of my previous posts in this 15 Day Blogging Challenge I mentioned how this blog is my one constant. It is the one thing that doesn’t change, I wake up every morning, come on here, and here you all are – here I am, we are all sharing the same passion and it is comforting. It is secure. It’s a place that I hold really deep in my heart.

Blogging is my personal bubble, which is stupid because it’s entirely public and out there for the world to read.

I guess I just like to think that I can help someones motivation or I can help them feel not alone, just like you guys do for me. I like to share my experiences, thoughts and journey with you all because it not only helps me process things but I hope it could help you in return.

I love my blog so much, and that is why I love to do these challenges with you all! It helps us all be motivated and encouraged. It’s a great way to connect.

So, why/when did you start blogging?

If you are joining in, link me to your post on your blog or feel free to answer in the comments section below. I’d love to hear from you.

  2. Thanks for sharing your journey. Isn’t it amazing how we can grow as people when we express ourselves creatively. At least this is true for me! I chose to begin blogging at a point in my life where I literally felt like I was/am reinventing myself. My journey was prompted by loss and pain but has become so much more than that.

  3. I love your honesty in these posts. My blog has really become special to me, too. It’s our little time capsules in a way. I started blogging for my writing, when I was working on publishing my first book and to keep my sanity with all the changes going on in life and the world.
