What Are You Looking Forward To The Most This Year? (7 Days 7 Posts)

Hey everyone,

Happy Tuesday 🙂 I hope you are all having a lovely start to your Tuesday, or end to your Monday depending on where you are in the world!

Today is the second day of our 7 Days 7 Posts challenge, if you would like to join in please see here for further details.

The daily topic for today is: What are you looking forward to the most this year?

This might be quite obvious of an answer for me, but I am most looking forward to my baby! I cannot wait for them to join the world.

It feels as though I have been pregnant forever. 9 months really is a long time, especially when so many changes happen to your body. I am really looking forward to the pregnancy part being over, I don’t enjoy being pregnant at all. I don’t know how there are so many women out there that love being pregnant, they must be super women. I think it’s because every time we turn a corner there seems to be a problem. My husband and I just want her to be out and safe, so that we can move forward together.

For me, what I am looking forward to the most is their first year of life. It is apparently the cutest, hardest time as a parent.

Christmas last year was the last Christmas that my husband and I were going to have without a child in the picture, so I’m looking forward to Christmas this year because they will be here. They may not know what is going on, but they will at least be here, not just cooking away in my tummy.

I’m looking forward to seeing our families faces when they first see her. It will be the first time she ever meets the people who matter most to us.

I’m looking forward to sharing their first Winter together.

We will take them to go see snow up in the mountains, that’s going to be amazing. Bub is going to be a Summer baby, so they won’t know how great it is to wear cozy warm jackets until later in the year! That is going to be such a moment to put on their first jacket. I don’t know why I’m looking forward to that so much.

All in all, I just can’t wait for their ‘firsts’ this whole year.

It is going to be absolutely remarkable, and I am so damn lucky to be able to have this opportunity. I am truly so lucky to be able to be in this position where my body and mind are able to go through this process without me necessarily doing anything. My body has done this entire process on it’s own. The body is an incredible thing.

So, yep. We just want her out and about! I can’t wait to meet bub.

What are you looking forward to the most this year?

If you have decided to join in, please link your post below in the comments for us all to come read what you have created and share you some love.

Thank you!

  1. It’s just the beginning of my Monday! (and go figure, I am already looking at wordpress at work, shhhh.) My post should be up shortly. I cheated and scheduled my post ahead of time. 🙂
You sound like you’re gonna have a great 2nd half of 2020. It does sound like the 1st year is the hardest, with the lack of sleep, etc. However, even though I am not a parent, I know it’s the year I would cherish the most. Your excitement extends out to your readers 🙂

    1. Haha, I am looking forward to having a read of yours! Scheduling is fantastic for these types of things, especially with work. I’m so glad you got to get in there and write yours up 😀

  2. I don’t have any major plans but I think I’m most excited to see how I grow and change this year. I think I’m on an upswing and that’s exciting because it means (for me, anyway) that every day- even the most mundane can be fantastic!

  3. I am SO excited for you! I know the end of pregnancy can feel like FOREVER and it can be so uncomfortable. Just remember your experiences are you own, so whether or not your pregnancy and birth look like other people’s it’s okay! I say that because I remember feeling that I didn’t really like being pregnant and it was SO hard, and others seem to love it (like you mentioned in a previous post). Postpartum can be difficult too, but you’ll get through it and seeing all the ways your child develops and grows is so exciting.

I did want to tell you that for Day 3 my most memorable day was when my daughter was born/when I became a mother. I’d like to write about it because I haven’t shared the story. It’s a little intense so I wanted to warn you ahead of time, if you felt like you couldn’t read it I’d completely understand. It ended out okay (my daughter is 13 and healthy!) but it was quite the ride!

    1. Omg I can’t wait!!! Are you going to write it up for us to read? Please make sure you link me or let me know when it’s up I’d absolutely love to read it. Everyone’s birth plans never go as plan, there’s always things that can happen but at the end of the day as long as you and bub are happy, healthy and safe you can make it through anything together. I’m so glad everything turned out OK, I am looking forward to reading it if you are comfortable sharing 😍 I love reading mothers experiences, they’re all absolutely special in their own ways ❤️
