Nora Grey’s life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn’t pleasant, but at least she got a guardian angel out of it. A mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He’s more elusive than ever (if that’s possible) and what’s worse, he seems to be spending time with Nora’s archenemy, Marcie Millar.

Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Patch hadn’t been acting so distant. Even with Scott’s totally infuriating attitude, Nora finds herself drawn to him – despite her lingering feelings that he is hiding something.

If that weren’t enough, Nora is haunted by images of her murdered father, and comes to question whether her Nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death. Desperate to figure out what happened, she puts herself in increasingly dangerous situations to get the answer. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything – and everyone – she trusts

Review

I have my review on the first book here. The second book did NOT disappoint me. I enjoyed this so much, it just kept getting better. I found myself gripped to every single page.

It was the kind of reading experience where you look at the clock and it’s nearly midnight but you tell yourself to keep reading just a few more chapters. Before I knew it, I was just struggling to put it down. I was insanely hooked.

I love how much suspense and guessing Becca Fitzpatrick puts in this saga. I can’t guess what is going to happen, literally at all, and I usually do guess majority of the time. With this saga, I have found myself not wanting to guess and just to let it unravel in my hands as I continue to read.

The action is incredible, there is so much that happens that keeps me on my toes. There is lots of drama, lots of twists and turns. I found myself emotional at some points, because I didn’t want to believe what was happening.

I have to raise the same pain point I listed in my previous review, the spelling is appalling at some points. I’m currently on the forth book, and it has continued throughout. I thought the editing would have been improved, unfortunately it hasn’t been.

I am reading this saga incredibly quickly and I am dreading it ending. I don’t want it to be over. As mentioned, I’m on the forth book and I still can’t guess what is going to happen at the end. I don’t know where Becca Fitzpatrick is taking Nora and Patch on their journey, but I hope it’s good!

  1. I remember reading this book in high school and it left such a good impression on me! I got through most of the series but skimped out on the last book sadly 😦 would love to see what you have to say about that one. I loved the relationship Nora and Patch had!

    1. I finished the saga, and I have to say the last book wasn’t THAAATTT amazing. It was great, but not as good as the others! Which is a huge shame because the last book could have been killer. I love Nora and Patch so much 😦 It makes me sad because it’s over!
